Cabanas Tulum Hotel Makes Tripadvisor’s Top 10 Beachfront Hotels
So you planned your trip and you’ll be in Playa del Carmen for Valentine’s Day. What? You haven’t yet?
Well take a look at our Romance page if you haven’t seen it yet, for some great ideas to make this day special for you and your partner.
Whether you’re into V-day or not, we have something to suit your needs.
Like other parts of the world such as Canada and the United States, February 14th is celebrated in Mexico as the Día de San Valentin, but it’s more commonly referred to as El Día del Amor y la Amistad, which translated means the “day of love and friendship.”
People commonly give flowers, candies and balloons to their romantic partners, but it’s also a day to show appreciation for friends.
Celebrating Friendship:
One thing I love about Mexican Valentine’s Day celebrations is that it is an event that everyone can take part in.
Here Valentine’s Day is not just for lovers, it’s also for friends.
It’s a time for people to show appreciation to the people they care about – this way, there’s no reason to feel left out if you don’t have a significant other.
You can buy some flowers, write a poem or make a gift for one of your friends to let them know you care!
Terms of Endearment:
Want to know how to say ‘I love you’ in Spanish?
It is common knowledge that the Spanish language is very romantic, and this is no lie!If you’d like to tell your special someone how you feel about them in Spanish, you may find it a bit more challenging than just learning the words.
Saying I love you in Spanish can be a bit more complicated than in English because there are two different ways to say it. “Te quiero” or “Te quiero mucho” is said freely among friends and family members but “Te amo” is used to put forth a stronger feeling, and is more commonly used for significant others.
Some other common terms of endearment include ‘Amor’ (Love) or Corazon (Heart), which would be the same as adding the word ‘sweetie’, or ‘honey’ or something similar to the end of the sentences you say to a loved one.
